Razors bowlers upset Oak Flats

The Rail produced their best day’s bowling of the season to upset leaders Oak Flatsat Croome Road.

Having posted 9/236, The Rail dismissed the Rats for 217, then were7/70 in their second dig.

Mark Damoiseaux starred with the ball for the Razorbacks taking 5/38 off 13 overs., while Ben Mitchell (51) top-scored for Oak Flats, plus took 4/29 in The Rail’s second dig.

Meanwhile, Lake Illawarra claimed first innings points but Kiama earned the second day honours with a strong batting effort at Howard Fowles Oval.

The Lakers dominated day one, dismissing Kiama for only 88, and pushed on from 6/188to declare at 8/246. Ryan McGuire made an unbeaten 57.

Kiama batted well in their second dig and finished 2/149, with Mark Brockman unbeaten on 77 and skipper Nathan Barr making 29.

‘‘It was a really encouraging day for us; now we’ve got to do it over two days, Kiama skipper Nathan Barr said.
