A man has died at the Stereosonic festival in Adelaide on Saturday in the touring event’s second fatality in a week, while 60 people were arrested for drug offences at Melbourne’s Stereosonic.

Of the 16 women and 44 men arrested, 50 are facing diversions, six were cautioned, two were released on summons and two were charged and bailed.

Police seized ecstasy, cocaine, cannabis and GHB.

An estimated 25,000 people attended the event at Melbourne Showgrounds.

Ambulance Victoria paramedics had not treated any festivalgoers by late Saturday.

The arrests come despite warnings by Victoria Police that sniffer dogs and plain clothes officers would be out in force.

Last Saturday, 25-year-old pharmacist Sylvia Choi died after reportedly drinking ecstasy dissolved in a bottle of water at Sydney’s Stereosonic.

At last year’s Melbourne festival, police arrested 120 people for drug offences and seized drugs including ecstasy, amphetamines, cocaine and cannabis.
