INDUSTRY in the George Town area is set for a boost with the state government pledging $40,000 towards a development study and plan for the Bell Bay Precinct.
The announcement comes after the government and the George Town Council combined to release a Bell Bay Precinct prospectus in September this year, with an aim of attracting business to the area.
The study plan is expected to detail strategies for future development of the precinct and ways to capitalise on the site’s potential.
A government media release said precinct businesses Bell Bay Aluminium and South32 TEMCO made the area a hub of industry knowledge.
“The Bell Bay Industrial Precinct is perfectly positioned to take advantage of its location, services capacity and access to key infrastructure, and will promote these exceptional features to investors,” the release said.
